
The regular tried them and was hooked. Word of this amazing dish spread across town, and people started coming in asking for "Chicken George." Soon after, a sweet and tangy dipping sauce, named "Jan sauce" after Bob's wife, was invented to go with the restaurant's signature dish. One night, a regular came in looking for something different to eat, and the owner at the time, Bob Prescott, thought of George's chicken snack.

In 2010 he leased the restaurant and marina in Clinton, Iowa, at 511 Riverview Drive, once again bringing a fresh perspective when his. The new location brought a whole new look and attitude to the Candlelight Inn name. The story goes like this: George was cutting up chicken breasts, coating them in light batter and frying them for himself to eat as a snack in the kitchen.
